TECHNOLOGY
There are many areas in which technology can enhance the learning, independence, and participation of individuals who are Deaf-Blind.
The Montana Deaf-Blind Project uses a portion of our project funds each year to add to a pool of assistive technology devices that can be checked out for short term loan. We believe that trying equipment with an individual in their home, classroom, and/or community is the best way to see whether the technology will be useful. It is a “try before you buy” philosophy. New mobile technologies have generated much excitement in the recent years, and we want to help with the sharing of information and experiences about the use of these devices for individuals who are deaf-blind. Explore our Going Mobile blog site to read about apps that you may find useful and PLEASE, share your experience with apps by entering comments in the space that follows each product description.
